Tsente Rooibos Organic Tea Blend with Green Rooibos - Image 2

Tsente Rooibos Organic Tea Blend with Green Rooibos

$19.99

This herbal tea contains organic hibiscus, ginger, and green rooibos. Blends for 8 -16 oz teacups. Bring water to a boil (212 degrees) and steep for 8-10 mins for hot drinks and 15 min for cold drinks. Add sweetener as desired.

The rooibos plant is similar to the honeybush plant in that it produces a yellow flower but is very different. Rooibos is made from the leaves of cyclopia intermedia plant, both South African teas, and Honeybus is produced from the leaves of aspalathus linearis plant. Rooibos is farmed, while Honeybush grows in the wild. It is only grown in South Africa and is native to Cederberg, north of Cape Town. The redness of the tea is attributed to the degree of oxidation: It is cut, steamed, oxidized, and then dried. The green rooibos is steamed and dried immediately. The product is believed to have nutritional and health benefits such as improved digestion and reduced inflammation.
